The Quiz Competition

The National History Competition is open to all commercial, arts, sciences and social science secondary school students in Nigeria. Meaning that students and schools do not necessarily need to offer History in their schools before participating. These students representing various schools would compete for a championship trophy, scholarships, medals, certificates, plaques and other prizes.

There are three categories of the competition: Junior, Senior and Individual categories. Schools are free to register Two (2) representatives with a teacher guiding them for each of the categories. Individual students are also encouraged to participate as this will definitely encourage and widen the winning chances of a school.

Additional Three Students could be brought to the venue of the event to give moral support to school teams. In all a school team should comprise of 2 (TWO) registered contestants, each for junior and senior categories, 3 (THREE) supporters and 1 (ONE) teacher. However, any individual/privately registered student could be on the school team.

Levels of The Competition

The quiz Competition takes place at the state and regional levels.

National finals will bring together the zonal/state/regional winners in the months of December / January in order to have a national winner at the various categories.

THEME:To be determined by the organisers every year.

Participating schools and students are to carry out studies/ researches on all topics given, using primary and secondary sources as quiz questions would be drawn from them. Teachers should allow students ask questions, read books and use the internet to get prepared for the competition.
